Miss Bessie Mae Joyce, 99, was born June 16, 1910 in Stokes County, NC. She departed this life on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She attended the Stokes County Schools. Most of her adult life she resided in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Miss Joyce lived at 2223 Greenway Avenue until 2008. She later moved to Somerset Court at University Place assisted living in Winston Salem, NC. Bessie was known for her religious spirit, great cooking, and her giving spirit!
Left to cherish her memories are a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel, 822 Carl Russell Ave. Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Interment will follow in the Joyce Family Cemetery in Lawsonville, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until Noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
Miss Joyce will be greatly missed by family and friends!
