Mrs. Bessie Toliver Evans, 68, was born November 28, 1944 in W-S, NC to John and Lillie Woods Toliver. She departed this earthly life March 26, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was educated in the W-S/FCS System.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Evans, Sr.; and two brothers, Theodore Toliver and Edward Toliver.

She is survived by her children, Jonathan (Lavonia) Toliver, Beatrice Toliver, Bessie Toliver-Evans, Samuel Toliver, and Jeanette Toliver; 14 grandchildren, Jonathan, Jr., Deja, Lawrence ,LaVonne, Latiana, Micherelle, Malik, SamQuan, Sykonza, Shamara, Shyniya, Amajae, Jarele, and Genesis; one great-grandchild, Kimberley; 3 sisters, Thomasenia Hunter, Jeanette Toliver, and Arlene Toliver; 5 brothers, John Woods, Robert (Malvolia) Toliver, George Toliver, Willie Toliver, and Michael (Jacquelyn) Toliver; a devoted step-son, Samuel Evans, Jr.; and host of step-children, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Eaddy officiating. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Friday at the Chapel. Interment will be held at 12noon Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Pine Hill AME Church Cemetery, Latta, SC.
