Rev. Bertha Walker, 86, better known as Mother Walker, passed away on May 20, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 12:00 Noon from the St. John C. M. E. Church, Elder James E. Russell, Jr., will officiate. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour. The family will depart from 1654 Burton Street at 10:45 a.m. The family wishes to thank the loving angels on the Kate B. Reynolds staff for the care and support given to Mother Walker and her family during her time of illness. Because of the care, Mother Walker's transition from this life was peaceful and comfortable. Special thanks to Dr. Karen Cross, her nurse Alina, her CNA Barbara, and to her Chaplain, Rev. Dalton for their loving care. May God richly bless all of you for every kind word and deed and the special care given to Mother Walker and her family.
