Mrs. Bernice Sharon Taylor Fields, 47, of 5005 Longbrook Circle passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County to Mary Taylor and Bernard Taylor on January 25, 1960.
Mrs. Fields was a graduate of RJR High School and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a teacher for several daycare centers in the city for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Fields is survived by her husband, Tony Dewayne Fields; on daughter, Brittany Lajoy Fields; a son, Justin Dewayne Fields; her mother, Mary Taylor of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Florie (Fason) Purnell of Davidsonville, MD, Ava (Tim) Dungee of Winston-Salem, NC and Rita (John) Segers of Snellsville, GA; three brothers, Isaiah Thompkins, Bernard (Tonya) Taylor, and Tommy Lee Taylor all of Winston-Salem, NC; two uncles, David (Olivia) Thompkins and Johnnie (Ernell) Thompkins; an aunt, Elisa Thompkins; six nieces, two nephews, and host of devoted cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. John Mendez officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from noon until 1pm on Wednesday at the Church.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Forsyth Medical Center for all their excellent care and compassion during Mrs. Fields final days before her homecoming.
