Obituary

"And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Mrs. Bernadine Shaw Holland of  Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was born July 21, 1962 in Winston-Salem to the late John and Mary Shaw. Bernadine, passionately known as "Bonda" was a faithful member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Combination Chorale, Nurses ministry, and Ushers ministry.

Bernadine worked many years at Forsyth Medical Center as a certified nurse's assistant. She went to glory of Friday, October 2, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Dialysis Center.

Bernadine was preceded in death by her mother and father; sister, Carrie; and brothers, James and Lester Shaw. She leaves a devoted husband of 27 year, Carl Alreno Holland of the home; two daughters, Lakesha (Darrell Jr.) Dillingham-Kennedy and Tocarla Shaw both of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Keyonna Rolle, Darrell Kennedy III, Zariah Shaw; a loving step-son, Torez Dawkins; father and mother-in-law, Cecil Sr. and Rosa Holland; brothers-in law, Cecil Holland Jr., Cedric (Mary) Holland, and Cletis (Carolyn) Holland; a devoted sister-in-law, Rhonda (Nathaniel) Dixon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at Thursday, October 8, 2020. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
