Bennie Lee Dunston, Jr. was born October 29, 1948 in Louisburg, North Carolina to the late Bennie & Elnora Dunston, Sr. and adopted and raised by the late Paul "Coot" & Susie Bell Baker and his Grandmother, Jessie "Pate" Sutton.  To his family he was affectionately known as "Junior" or "June".  He's had six siblings that have preceded him in death, sisters, Patricia Baker, Senora Williams, Mary Spencer, & Shirley Hill; and two brothers, James Duston, Sr. & David Baker.

Bennie accepted Christ at an early age.  He joined Timberlake Grove Baptist Church in Louisburg, NC. He attended the public school system in Franklin County, NC.

Bennie worked at Virginia Linen, Wilson Trucking Company, and started at Nabisco in 1992 and retired in 2011.

Bennie loved traveling, being outdoors, family time & gatherings, football (Dallas Cowboys & New England Patriots fan), his music and movies. He played baseball in multiple church leagues, and he always had us laughing with his stories, jokes, and quick whit!

Bennie leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Dianna J. Pearson; three daughters, Desherie Callahan, Shiree McCormick, & Chantel Dunston; two granddaughters, Jazara & Leaila Callahan; six brothers, Jimmie Dunston, Joshua Baker, Robert Baker (Molly), Eddie Baker, Carl Baker, & Ray Baker; six sisters, Mary Ann Benn, Annie Jean Anderson (Larry), Susan Baker, Betty Baker, Charlene Bowden, & Sharon Baker; two sisters-in-law, Etophia King & Janice James; one uncle, Albert Clemonts; one aunt, Mable Lee Washington; Godson, James Duston, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
