Benjamin James Pitts, Sr. was born November 28, 1932 to James and Bertha Pitts. On December 13, 2021 he went home to be with the Lord.

He graduated from Atkins High School and later joined the US Army. After several years of service, he later returned home to work for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company where he retired after 35 years of work.

Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, James Cornell Pitts, Harvey Pitts, and Thomas Pitts.

He was a loving father and grandfather.

Left to cherish precious memories are his wife of 65 years, Lillie Mae Pitts; two sons, Benjamin J. Pitts, Jr. and Marvin Pitts; four grandchildren, Mario Pitts, Jermaine Pitts, Sr., Jamar Pitts, and Antonio Pitts, Sr.; eleven great grandchildren; three brothers, Isaac Pitts, Sr., Robert Pitts, and Joe Pitts; one sister, Jeanette P. Wells;  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is now home to join the rest of his family in Heaven!

Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
