With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Rev. Benjamin F. Humphrey, Jr., who went home to be with the Lord on July 16, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born on July 10, 1934, Rev. B.F. Humphrey Jr. lived a life marked by unwavering faith, tireless service, and the enduring work of his hands. Known and respected as a devoted minister of the Gospel, he dedicated his life to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through both his words and actions. His faithfulness, humility, and steady guidance blessed countless lives throughout his ministry.
Beyond the pulpit, Rev. Humphrey took great pride in the home he built with his own hands — a labor of love that stood as a symbol of his craftsmanship, determination, and care for his family. Whether preaching, building, or simply lending a helping hand, he believed in the dignity and joy of hard work and took great satisfaction in the work of his hands.
He will be remembered for his servant's heart, his love of family, his devotion to his faith, and his quiet strength. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the foundation he built — both in spirit and in stone.
He is survived by his children, Bennie Byron, Sr., Broderick G. Sr.; their spouses, Betty, Mary, and Marie; his grandchildren, Bennie Byron, Jr. (Vernette), Kesia, Jessica, Eli (Jamie), Joshua, Isaac, Broderick, II (Delzeta), Karin (Jamal), Andrè (Kaori) and a host of great grandchildren. He also leaves to honor his beautiful memory, his sisters, Irene, Betty, and Darlene.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin, Sr., and Margaret C. Humphrey; wife, Pearlie Mae; son, Marcus; and daughter, Marlene; along with his siblings, Gordon, Lewis, Ernestine, Elbert, and Johnny.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
In his famous words, "That'll do!"
