Mrs. Barbara B. Vance was the oldest child born to Nannie and James Barber on March 10, 1937. She departed this life on April 12, 2015.

Barbara B. Vance attended the local public schools and was a retired Lab Coordinator at Forsyth Medical Center. She was married to the late William H. Vance, Jr. for over 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, her devoted caregiver Toni, and Kerri; son, Bryan Vance; adopted son, Darryl Hunt; grandchildren, Monique, LeCole (Dunte'e) Silver, Bryan, and Ashleigh; great-grandchildren, Timyia, LeKel, Kaden,Londyn, Nasir, and Desi Sims, II; siblings, Vernell (Frank) King of Milpitas, CA and Alice (James) Gambrell of the city; sister-in-law, Betty Vance; brother-in-law, David Vance; very special friends, Eddie Carpenter, Denise Hartsfield, Doris Woodruff, Joyce Summey and family, Barbara Morris and family; and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, April 20, 2015 at Reynolds Temple CME Church. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Monday at the Church.
