Ms. Barbara Ann Sutton, 60, departed this life to eternity on Friday, January 12, 2007 at the Nursing Center of Oak Summit after an extended period of illness. She was born on October 12, 1946 to Willie Bowman and Hattie Sutton Bowman of Winston-Salem, NC.

Barbara was a 1966 graduate of Atkins Sr. High School and was a graduate of Carolina Beauty College . She owned her own beauty salon, Our Beauty Salon and was employed by National Linen Service and the Winston-Salem Police Department. Barbara was a member of Temple Holiness Apostolic Church where she served on numerous boards.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Barbara leaves to cherish her sweet memories her children, Curtis Sutton and Karen Sutton (Rodney) Mitchell; seven grandchildren, Cyereka, Cedrick, Candice, Shenika, Cierra, and Christian Sutton, and Gavin Curtis Smith; four sisters, Phyllis Sutton, Deloris (Horatious) Bowen, Peggy (Dexter) Sullivan, and Marguerita Bowman; four brothers, Willie Lee (Linda) Bowman, Turner (Sharon) Bowman, Otis Bowman, and Anthony (Toni) Bowman; two aunts, Evelyn Sutton Leake and Erselle Sutton; devoted friends, Jackie Riley McFadden, Loletta Williams, and Robette Benjamin whom helped with the care of her in her hom; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2006 at 12 noon from the Temple Holiness Apostolic Church , 2218 E. 22nd Street , Winston-Salem , NC with Bishop Claude Thomas officiating and Elder Jerry Scott at the Eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery . The family visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2007 from 7 pm until 8 pm at Temple Holiness Apostolic Church .
