Obituary

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Barbara Jean McCloud took her heavenly ascension on Thursday, February 12, 2009. One of six siblings born March 11, 1951 to Worth and Jessie McLeod.

She attended the Forsyth County Schools. She was employed with the City of Winston-Salem and retired after 30 years of service and had a passion for traveling and sports.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Sylvester Wilson; daughter, Tammy Diane Wilson.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to her son, Ronell Wilson; granddaughters, Tymeshia Wilson, Shanika Wilson, Roniesha Fisher, Ramiah Anderson and one great grandson, Tysean Zoker; brothers, Worth McLeod, Jr. (Jackie), Jerome McCloud (Tammy), and Paul McLeod; sisters, Sherrill (Raymond) Oaks and Kaven (Larry) McCloud; husband, David Watkins; and a host of loving nieces and nephews, a devoted friend and co-worker, Antionette Torrence, companion, Paul Spease, loving and close friend, Roger Simmons, and many close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, February 16, 2009 at St. John Baptist Church, 1200 N. Cleveland Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27101 with the Reverend Leonard Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 1pm until 1:30 pm Monday at the church.
