IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Ann
Delois Greenwood Glenn
January 23, 2026
Barbara Ann Delois Greenwood Glenn, 83, formerly of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026. She transitioned at her home in Little Elm Texas, with her family by her side, following a lengthy illness and hospice care.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Glenn; her parents, Pearline and Louis Porter, Ralph Greenwood; her grandparents, Azalee and James Mathis, and Margaret Greenwood.
A proud native of Winston-Salem, Barbara attended Atkins High School and Forsyth Technical Community College.
Barbara's professional career included many dedicated years at Thomasville Furniture Company and a distinguished career at R.J. Reynolds, where she worked as a Lab Technician for more than 25 years until her retirement in 2003.
Her faith was her foundation. For many years, she was a devoted member of New Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Jerry Drayton, where she served with the Young Adult Missionary group. She later attended New Birth Worship Center, under Dr. James L.E. Hunt with her husband William "Bill" Glenn. In later years, she later moved to Texas where she joined Friendship Baptist Church of The Colony under Rev. Gregory C. Trotter.
Barbara was the heartbeat of our family—a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend. She had a rare, unconditional love, gentle nature, and an infectious smile. Known affectionately as a "fashion queen", she lived with a vibrant spirit that found beauty everywhere. She enjoyed modeling, camping, and traveling. She cherished the many miles spent as a passenger on her husband's motorcycle, "taking in the beauty of the countryside". Through every adventure, her compass always pointed home to her unwavering faith in God.
She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories for her daughters Patrice Glenn-Jackson and Willette (Daryl) Glenn-Boykin; four grandchildren, Aysia Glenn, Cherise Jackson, Cameryn Boykin, and Daryn Boykin; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Sage; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Larry) White and Brenda Glenn; one nephew, Timothy Glenn; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Thursday, February 12, 2026 at New Birth Worship Center, East Bend, NC. Interment will follow in New Birth Worship Center Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
