Barbara Jones Cook, 67, of Winston-Salem passed away at Chapel Hill Memorial Hospital on Jan.8 2013 after a short illness. She was born on September 28, 1945 to the late Alphonzo and Mary Alice Jones.
She graduated from Winston - Salem State University and obtained a Master's Degree from North Carolina A&T State University. Barbara was an educator in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System and retired after forty years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonzo and Mary Jones; and one sister, Angelia Jones.
She leaves to mourn her husband, Walter Charles Cook Jr.; one daughter, Deborah Cook Moore (Gregory); two step-daughters, Sinetra Ussary (James) and Tammie L. Cook; four brothers, Alphonzo, William, Andrew (Anna) and Darrly (Yvette) Jones; one sister, Vicky Jones; three loving grandchildren, Shane, Aaron and Arria Moore; one devoted sister in-law, Lula Mae Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 3pm Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm on Sunday at the Church.
