Mrs. Audrey Marie Smith passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2007. She was born on July 21, 1957, in Winston-Salem, the daughter of William C. Brooks and Ruby Marie Brooks. Audrey lived a wonderful life surrounded by many dear friends and family members. She was a blessing to everyone she knew. A loving wife and mother, Audrey was happiest caring for her family. She spent over 25 years working for Sara Lee Hosiery. She was also a member of St. Peter' s World Outreach Center, where she and her husband served for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents. Audrey leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, James Smith Jr.; and two children, Jaron and Jamie Smith. She also leaves behind five brothers and three sisters, William Brooks Jr., of Roanoke, Va., Erwin (Giselle) Brooks, of Richmond, Va., Timothy Brooks, of San Diego, Calif., Anthony Brooks, of Winston-Salem, the Rev. Charles (Regina) Brooks, of Garner, Andre (Robert) Waddell, of Winston-Salem, Adrienne (Osama) Elsenity, of Raleigh and Pamela (Roger) Conley, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Theodosia (John) Todd, of Winston-Salem and Regina (Lester) McDonald, of Atlanta; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 from St. Peter' s World Outreach Center. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. We all rejoice in knowing that Audrey was a child of God and that she is in heaven where we all will see her again someday. She is greatly missed, but never forgotten. We love you!
