Obituary

Mrs. Athanette F. Keaton, 78, passed away December 2, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Athanette attended Atkins High School and retired from Gravely Tractor Company after 24 years of service. She was a faithful member of Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the missionary and usher board society, and was the honorary mother of the church. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Evangelist Ruth F. Knuckles; two brothers, Harold T. Frazier and Hebert Frazier; and one son-in-law, Rev. Steven W. Dalton.

Surviving are her husband, Rev. Hugh D. Keaton; six children, Rev. Melvin L. Frazier (Minister Victoria), Rebecca L. Jenkins (Herman), Debra G. Frazier, Aaron T. Frazier, Rev. Mellonie K. Tucker, and Rev. Edna K. Dalton; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roscoe Frazier (Caprisha) and Elder Wardlow Frazier (Evangelist Donella); two sisters-in-law, Rev. Annette Morman and Betty Frazier; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1pm Saturday, December 7, 2014 at Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin L. Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory Clemmons, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.

The family sincerely appreciates the dedicated, loving, and compassionate care provided throughout Athanette's final years.
