Artissa LaVet Rowdy was born on July 29, 1971, to Mary Rowdy Griffin. She passed away April 27, 2024.
Artissa was a 1988 graduate of Mount Tabor High School and was previously employed by Wake Forest University and American Airlines Reservation professional until the time of her illness. She also attended Fayetteville State University, Majoring in speech-language
pathology.
Artissa leaves many memories with her mother, Mary Rowdy Griffin; her sons, Kameron J. and Brandon J. Cornell; a brother, Leroy Grooms, Jr.; and a grandson, Kamiri Ace Cornell, whom she welcomed, loved, and adored. Artissa leaves to cherish with great memories, sister, Patricia R. (Uncle Howard) Ijames; uncles, Norman T. (Karen) Rowdy, and Cardell Riwdy. Artissa leaves many days of jokes, great times, and lots of love with a special friend, Mr. Jerome Belton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and more cousins. Artissa also leaves behind three college friends, Kimberly Rubin, Zandra Worsley, and Michelle Ward of the 1990 Class. She will be unmeasurably missed. We love you, Artissa. Rest easy and enjoy the Eternal life God has promised you.

Memorial services will be held at 4:30pm Friday, May 3, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Rowdy officiating. The family visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 4:30pm on Friday at the Chapel.
