Ms. Armenthia "Ment" Denise Gilreath of 1532 E 21st Street, Winston-Salem, NC departed this life on April 20, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center following an extended period of illness.

She was born October 23, 1952 to Allen and Ethel Gilreath whom both preceded her in death.

She was a faithful member of Spencer Memorial Christian Church, where she served many roles. As a young adult she was a member of the James A. Brown Junior choir and the usher board under the leadership of Pastor John W. Mack. Later she assisted with the children's choir, and drove the church van in an effort to bring all to Christ. She served in a capacity that she loved most, feeding the hungry which led her to be head of the kitchen hospitality staff.

Ms. Gilreath was a graduate of Atkins High School Class of 1971 and a former employee of the WSFCS System until her failing health.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Touron Gilreath of the home; two sisters, Gloria Moore and Celeste Gilreath both of Winston-Salem, NC; one grandson, Antawan Frazier; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a goddaughter, Fredrinna Miller; and a devoted friend, Mrs. Daisy Chambers.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, April 24, 2008 from the Spencer Memorial Christian Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 7 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday at Russell Funeral Home.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Cancer Unit at Forsyth Medical Center for the exceptional care that they provided for our loved one during her illness.
