Argress Montina Hymes of 3850 Sawyer St. transitioned from this life on Monday, September 11, 2017 after battling cancer. She was born June 16, 1969 to Dorothy Hymes and the late Alden Hymes.
She attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, graduating from Carver High School with honors and was a graduate of Appalachian State University where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. Argress worked from Wells Fargo for many years. She loved music, animals, movies, video games, and cooking her favorite meals. She was of strong faith and a believer of hope. She was known for her beautiful smile and sweet soul. Argress was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alden Hymes; grandparents, Chine (Gladys) Hymes and Mary Napper; aunts and uncles, Constance Daniels, Charles Mack, Clarence Hymes; and RJ Joseph Hymes; and beloved pets, Scampy and Duchess.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving mother, Dorothy "Jean" Hymes; brother, Adam Hymes; sister, Angelene Hymes; aunts and uncles, Lillie Mae Jones, Samuel (Rose) Hymes, Berlene Smith, Carolyn Napper, Belinda (Melvin) Daniels, Larry (Bonita) Napper, Reverend Warren (Linda) Napper, Wynette Napper, Laverne Edwards, and Jonathan Napper; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Argress was a loving and devoted family member and friend. She treated everyone the way she would wanted to be treated. She was a kind-hearted person whose inter-spirit touched those who knew her. Her sense of humor was infectious. Her smile showed her true gentle nature. She was a very spiritual person who always had a positive attitude. She always had kind words for her coworkers. Her faith was present in every part of her life. She will be missed deeply.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. John Mendez officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Saturday at the Church.
