Obituary

Anthony "Kareem" Cornelius Burnette, 46, went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Anthony touched so many and made a difference in so many lives because of his huge, kind heart. He was also a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan and North Carolina Tarheels fan.

He was preceded in death by his favorite aunt, Josephine Bryant; and his grandparents, Recie Corsidine Burnette and Major Fulton Barrett.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Loretta Gail Burnette; his father, Alfred Hunter; four sisters, Frances N. M. Burnette, Jamika (Stefon) Watts, Ruby (David) Thompson, and Latifa (Tremayne) Gilmore; his six children, Anthony "Tony" Warren, Sunny Smith, Christopher Hairston, Ciarra Cason, Elasha Young, and Takirah Burnette; three grandchildren, Shaviea Smith, Dirmani Smith, and Anthony Warren Jr; six nieces and nephews, Sharifah Perry, Recie (Cedric) Mack, Jalen Burnette, Careem Mack, Tremayne "T.J." Gilmore, and Sydney Grace Watts; three uncles and aunts, Ronald (Frankie) Burnette, Betty (Bobby) Jones, and Chester (Delsie) Burnette; a dear close family friend, Darryl "Muhammad" Hunt; and a host of cousins and friends who will forever cherish him.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Curtis Friday officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Chapel.
The family will accept visitors and may be contacted at the home, 800 Garfield Ct. W-S, NC.
