Annie Moore Thorpe was born on March 29, 1929 in Halifax County, NC to the late Claude and Fannie Moore.

She made her transition from life to life eternal on March 10, 2020 at the Summerstone Health and Rehabilitation Center, Kernersville, NC.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, York Thorpe; four sisters; and four brothers.

She attended school at Browley High School in Scotland Neck, NC.

She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Halifax County, then later moved to New Jersey and joined Messiah Baptist Church.  Years later she moved to Kernersville, NC and joined Emmanuel Baptist Church where she became a faithful member of the Spiritual Choir and the Missionary Unit until her illness.

Annie was a very loving person.  She looked forward to visits from her family and friends.  She loved talking about her beloved husband and family.  The love she displayed will forever be in our hearts.

She leaves to cherish her memories her two loving sons, Clarence Thorpe of Kernersville, NC and Idris (Irma) Rasul of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Hoskins, Melanie Thorpe, Aisha Rasul, Hassan Rasul, Sulaiman Rasul, Yusuf Rasul, and Che McPherson; four great-grandchildren; one special sister-in-law, Mattie Moore of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, March 16, 2020 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Ann Dalton officiating.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Monday at the Church.
