Mrs. Annie Josephine Mitchell Shouse formerly of 3023 Colgate Drive W-S, NC was born November 1, 1923 in Rural Hall, NC to Charlie and Ludia Crews Mitchell. She passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation of Winston-Salem after an extended illness.
Mrs. Shouse was a graduate of Carver High School in Winston-Salem, NC. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Saint James United Methodist Church in Rural Hall, NC until her health declined. She also attended Mount Zion Senior Life Enrichment Center where she made many friends.
Mrs. Shouse was preceded in death by her parents and devoted husband, Johnny Gray Shouse.
She leaves to cherish dear memories her loving and devoted daughters, Patricia Ann Shouse of the home and Lynn Carol Shouse of Katy, TX; several sisters-in-law, Mrs. Anna Ervin, Mrs. Margaret Scales, Mrs. Hannah Eldridge, and Mrs. Molly McLain; brothers-in-law, Mr. Henry Shouse and Mr. Tom Shouse; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St. James UMC, 15 Highway 65W Rural Hall, NC with Dr. Paul Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in the St. James UMC Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
