Mrs. Annie Lee Brockman Crawford recognized the power of his love and shared this gift during her lifetime. Now, with her passing, the aspect of her love has changed and is now eternal but the essence remains. Annie, an only child was born August 24, 1922 to the late Eva Brim and Harley Webster in Winston-Salem, NC. A long-time resident of Winston-Salem, NC, Annie departed this life on Monday, January 4, 2010. She graduated from Atkins High School and was employed for many years at Branscomb Produce Company in Winston-Salem. She will be remembered by all for her quiet demeanor, sweet spirit, love and dedication to family, friends, and the community. Never slothful in business, but enough time to give full recognition to her religious convictions, Annie was a former member of Second New Bethel Baptist Church where she served as a "doorkeeper" and president of the Junior Usher Board for many years. As God's servant, Annie was an avid bible reader and spent many hours studying and reading the word. Annie was united in holy matrimony to George C. Crawford, who preceded her in death.
Her devotion and memory will forever remain by her two loving daughters, Gloria Jean Crawford-Valentine and Patricia Crawford-Scippio both of Winston-Salem, NC; two sons, George (Regina) Crawford of Whitsett, NC and James (Jackie) Crawford of Walkertown, NC; ten devoted grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; a special devoted friend, Mrs. Doretha Lyons of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends. She will truly be missed by all.
Funeral services will be conducted at Noon Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend V. Cedric Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11am until Noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
The procession will assemble and leave from the home of James and Jackie Crawford, 3775 Watkins Street, Walkertown, NC.
