Mrs. Anna Sue Sprinkle-Gamble was born July 11, 1932 in Danbury, NC to the late Viola George Sprinkle and William Albert Phillips. Anna departed this life on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center.

She was a member of Center Grove AME Zion Church in Tobaccoville, NC. She graduated from Carver High School and McLean Business School. She relocated to Harrisburg, PA where she was employed with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the City of Harrisburg. Later she moved back to W-S, NC where she retired from US Airways in April 1994.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Henry "Leroy" Gamble; daughter, Yvonne C. Simington; grandson, Antoine D. Simington; three brothers, William Phillips, Gene A. Sprinkle, and Oscar L. Sprinkle; and her step-father, Oscar R. Sprinkle.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories a devoted daughter, Anita S. Thompson and grandson, Terry B. Thompson, II both of the home; four daughters, Janice M. Payne, Patricia Simington-Buie, Michele R. Simington-Leverett all of W-S, NC and Robin L. Simington of High Point, NC; seven grandchildren, Durreill B. Simington, Timmysh R. Speas (Norman, III), Kisha L. Simington, Nihya N. Payne, Taylor M. Payne, a devoted granddaughter, Rachel N. Leverett, and William "Kevin" Leverett, II; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Glenda "Marie" Phillips of Harrisburg, PA, LuZella Hickman, Reverend Mildred A. Mack, and Brenda K. Sprinkle all of W-S, NC; devoted nieces, Camille Sprinkle and Melody Springs; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Center Grove AME Zion Church. Interment will follow in the Center Grove AME Zion Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 6:30pm until 7:30pm Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
