Andrew William Markey 1983 - 2023

Drew Markey, 40, passed away on November 21, 2023 at Baptist Hospital following a bicycle accident. Drew was the son of a fiercely loving single mom, Carol Markey. She preceded him in death, along with his favorite uncle, Larry Jones; and his grandparents, Mary Markey and Andrew Markey.

He shared a deep love with his best friend and wife, Lauren Carroll, who survives him. He also is survived by his two sisters, Emily Markey and Molly Markey; Molly's husband, Will Parham; their son, Milo Markey Parham; and Drew's aunt, Anne Markey Jones; as well as a large and cherished extended family and countless friends.

Drew was the best of us. He loved openly, laughed often, and was a kind and gentle observer of the world. He was warmth, light, and joy. He had a soft soul and a big heart. We will find him in every spring flower, every blue sky. We will love him forever.

In his final act of selflessness and love, Drew became an organ donor, saving and improving the lives of many people.

A private memorial for Drew will be held at a later date.
