Whoever dwells in the shelter of the most high will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
Mrs. Andrea Williams Scott (also affectionately known as "Andy") was born in Winston-Salem, NC on January 20, 1948 to Reverend Everette James Williams and Veola Horton Williams. She was the youngest of two children.
She loved music from an early age and took a special interest in the needs of children. This passion eventually led her to attend Winston Salem State University. After graduating from Winston Salem State University with a degree in education, she spent the next 40 plus years serving as a third grade teacher for Forest Park Elementary School, Paisley Elementary School and Cook Elementary School. After retirement, she continued to work tirelessly for the needs of children and served on the North Carolina State Assessment Team. In this role, she was able to encourage and equip future generations of educators. Mrs. Andrea had an intense love and affection for the needs of all around her, especially the youth. She effortlessly employed every inch of her talents into the development and cultivation of children. She was a welcoming and enjoying person. She believed in helping all who were in need.
It is fair to say that each individual that came into contact with her left feeling touched in some way by her.
Mrs. Andrea was also a faithful member of Pleasant Union Primitive Baptist Church and Piney Fork Baptist church for many years. There she served as choir director, pianist and more. She loved her church family immensely and enjoyed countless moments with them.
On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, our mother, grandmother and friend peacefully went into her final resting place. She was preceded in death by her parents and sibling, Teresa Williams. Most precious memories will be cherished by her daughter, Kesha Veola Spaulding-McEachin; son, Rodney Oliver Spaulding; son-in-law, Tony McEachin; two adoring granddaughters, Sade McEachin and Lidia McEachin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and the numerous children that she touched.
She concludes with her final request by saying may God be with you all until we all get to meet again someday.
