Obituary

Mr. Andre` Gray, the loving son of Doctor Charles E. Gray and Eula H. Gray was born December 4, 1964 in Baltimore, MD and moved with his family to Winston-Salem, NC as a young boy.
He went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 28, 2011 after a brief illness.
Andre` was a graduate of East Forsyth High School. He continued his education at North Carolina A&T University and graduated from High Point University in 1989. After his college graduation, Andre` relocated to Charlotte, NC where he lived for approximately 18 years. Church was an important part of his life beginning in his early day as a young boy attending Sunday School and participating in a number of church programs. Although he relocated to Charlotte, NC he continued to be a faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, driving weekly from his home in Charlotte. Andre` was one of the founding members of the Mount Olive Spiritual Choir and a member of the Pastor's Aide. He also served as the Church Custodian.
Andre` was loved by all who knew him. He could brighten your day with his laughter and beautiful smile. He loved to sing and as a very young boy was the lead singer of the group "Sons of Thunder."
Between the hours of 7:00am and 8:00am on Thursday morning, April 28, 2011, Andre` walked faithfully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Andre` was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Leaving to cherish his loving memories are his daughter, Chau-Dre` Essence London Gray; parents, Dr. Charles E. Gray and Eula H. Gray; one brother, Michael (Areletha) Gray; nephew, Charles Michael Gray; aunts, Betty McCray, Mildred Harlee, Leatha Harlee, Ann Dew, and Carol Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Andre` Gray will be held at 12:00noon Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Mount Olive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Thursday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Mount Olive Baptist Church television Ministry.
