Mrs. Amell Jackson Ervin was born on April 3, 1935 to Frank and Rena Harry Jackson in Florence, SC. She met and married Deacon Albert Ervin, Sr. and moved to Thomasville, NC eventually settling down in Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Ervin was a resident of the Easton Community for 53 years and retired from Thomasville Furniture Company after many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Albert Ervin, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Sally (Tony) Williams; great granddaughter, Alashia Ervin-Bethea; sisters, Mary Louise Jackson Brockington-Belle, and Lillie Mae Bridges; and brothers, Bradley Alexander, Curly Jackson, Robert Jackson, General Lee Jackson, Bobby Jackson and John Jackson.

Mrs. Ervin is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver, Zena Mae Ervin; and sons, Jerry and Terry Ervin, all of Winston-Salem; sister, Betty Williams, of SC; brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Lula Ervin of NY; sisters-in-law, Patricia Ervin of VA and Annie Sue Jackson of HP. She is also survived by grandsons, Demorris Ervin, of High Point, Michael Lamont (Ashia) Ervin, Zacharias Rayvon (Wakenia) Tapp, and Mario Ervin, all of Winston-Salem; granddaughters, Genova (AJ) Sawyer, Lashundria Green, Shauntes Williams of GA, Laterica Tucker, Kesha Tucker, and Terri Tucker; 20 great grandchildren; her great-great granddaughter and a second great-great grandson due in August.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Friday at the Chapel.
