Ms. Amber C. Guy, 14, was born March 15, 1995 in Greensboro, NC to Lance H. Guy, Sr. and Tonya W. Guy. A special jewel was called home after a period of illness on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Brenner Children' s Hospital. Amber was a loving and caring child with a zest for life and made a difference in the lives of people that she touched. She was in the 8th grade, and was a Crosby Scholar at Southeast Middle School. She once cheered for the Raiders and the Bobcats Cheering Squads. She was a faithful member of the Christ Covenant Church. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her mother, Tonya W. Guy, of the home; her father, Lance H. Guy, Sr.; a brother, Lance H. Guy, Jr.; a sister, Lauren K. Guy; maternal grandparents, Clem and Dorothy Withers; paternal grandfather, Herbert Guy; paternal grandmother, Patricia Rushin; devoted aunts, LaSonya (Fletcher) White, Crystal Withers and Tasha Withers; great-aunts, Rosa Curry, Brenda Moses, Celestine Shepphard, Carrether Gilliam, Barbara Dunham; great-great-aunts, Constance Carey, Mary Jane Green, Elizabeth Guy; uncles, James Gilliam, Clarence (Anna) Gilliam and James Withers; and a host of cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Nathan Scovens officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 2:30 until 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the Church.
