Alvina Jones-Lowery, 57 of 1005 N. Jackson Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Alvina was affectionately known as "NaNa" to so many others who she loved deeply.
She attended the Forsyth County School Systems and was an employee of AT&T. Mrs. Jones-Lowery was a lifelong member of Burning Flame Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Dorothy Jones.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 17 years, James Lowery; three children, Stephanie Jones, Rewa (Carlton Jones) Lowery, and Javal (Jeffery) McMillan; four grandchildren, Carlton Jones, Tiara Jones, Destiny Perry, and Javon Lowery; one brother, Ralph Jones; one devoted nephew, Joseph Abraham; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and Godchildren.
The celebration of life will be held at 1pm Saturday, May 10, 2008 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Joseph Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
