Alice Oglesby Wilkins of 11328 Kessler Place was born March 13, 1950, in Cherokee, SC to Hosie Oglesby and Geneva Phillips Oglesby. She passed away on February 2, 2010 in Manassas, VA.
Alice was a 1968 graduate of Atkins High School, and she furthered her education at Russell's Business College and at the University of District of Columbia, Washington, DC. She was employed with the Federal Aviation Administration as a Management Analyst for the past 22 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, and one sister, Lillie Victoria Oglesby Bynum; and two brothers, Odell Oglesby and Thomas Norris.
She leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories her mother, Geneva Phillips Oglesby of Winston-Salem, NC; her son, Dion (Tammy) Oglesby of Cheverly, MD; her daughter, Tiffany (Tammy) Wilkins of New York City, NY; two grandchildren, Tashi and Drew; four sisters, Ida Bell (West) Haynes of Gaffney, SC, Brenda Oglesby of Woodbridge, VA, Leneva (Pete) Rainey of Winston-Salem, NC and Debra Oglesby of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, Graham Norris of Gaffney, SC and William Oglesby of Woodbridge, VA; one sister-in-law, Henry Mae Oglesby of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, February 12, 2010 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Nathan Scovens officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Friday at the Church.
