Alice Estella Carter

May 15, 1923 - November 30, 2021

Alice Carter, 98, was born May 15, 1923 to the late the  Clarence and  Gaynor March Carter.

Alice Carter peacefully passed away at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center,  Winston-Salem, NC on Tuesday November 30, 2021 following a brief period of illness.

She attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School system and retired from Salem College.

Alice leaves to cherish her memories her son, Phillip Carter; grandchildren, Debra (Keith) Lighty, Derrick Jones, Frederick Jones, Donna Clayton, Phillip Carter, Jr., and Philicia Carter-Blue; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Priscilla  Carter Clegg; brothers, Otto Carter, Willie Carter, Clarence Paul Carter, Earnest Carter, and Zura Carter; sisters, Evelyn Carter, Madie Carter Holmes, Annist Carter Alexander (twin), Naomi Carter Robinson, Helen Carter Davis, Mary Carter Watson and Cherry Carter Hawkins.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Monday, December 6, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with Pastor Fomba Karva officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Tuesday at the Church.
