Alfreda "Freda" Marie Witherspoon-Clawson was born in Winston Salem, NC on October 26 1949 and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. A resident of Winston Salem, Freda graduated from Atkins High School in 1968 and loved the fact that she was a proud Camel. Freda was a lifelong member of Mt. Sinai Full Gospel Deliverance Center. Freda was employed with Tyco with over 25 years of service where she received many accolades and awards. During her spare time she had a love for traveling and attending various celebrity sponsored events.


Preceding her in death were two brothers, Robert "Candy Boy" and Melvin "Boy" Witherspoon; and two sisters, Lucretia "Trish Ann" McNeely and Aquanita "Neet" Witherspoon.


She is survived by her son, Alfonza Deon Witherspoon; granddaughter, Camren Deon Witherspoon; parents, Robert (Jessie) Witherspoon and Parrie Lee G. Witherspoon; two brothers, James Witherspoon and Bobby Witherspoon; two sisters, Benita Witherspoon and Beverly Witherspoon; her nephews that she loved as her sons, Roderick Witherspoon, Melvin Witherspoon, Jewaun Witherspoon, Ahmad Witherspoon, and Greg Rush; nieces, Tajha Witherspoon and Melissa Pruitt; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Mt. Sinai Full Gospel Deliverance Center with Rev. Yvonne H. Hines officiating. Entombment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Tuesday at the Church.
