Obituary

Mr. Alfred Mitchell, 70, affectionately known as "Bo" and "Mitch" of Winston-Salem, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. He was born on August 29, 1937 in Salisbury, NC to Robert Jeter and Elizabeth Mitchell. He graduated from London High School and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 33 years of service as a mailman and truck driver. Mr. Mitchell was President of the RJR Retired Drivers Club and a dedicated coach of Twin City Little League for over 25 years and later became President of the Twin City Little League Organization. He was also President of the Utopia Motorcycle Club and a member of the Shades of Soul Motorcycle Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Darryl Mitchell.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Regina Mitchell of the home; six children from a previous marriage to Mattie Goode Fowler, Gary Mitchell of Las Vegas, NV, Karen Mitchell of Charlotte, NC, Pamela (Montinique) Cager of Winston-Salem, NC, Timothy (Trina) Mitchell and Tonya (Victor) Lambert both of Atlanta, GA, and Terence (Shenedia) Mitchell of Newport News, VA; two step-daughters, Kandy (Carl) Adams of Manassas, VA and Marcella Marshall of Winston-Salem, NC; two devoted cousins, Flora Golden and Hampton Smith both of Winston-Salem, NC; 17 grandchildren; several other cousins; as well as other close family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, September 15, 2007 from the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 7pm until 9pm on Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
