Mr. Alexander Barnett Hooper of Winston-Salem, NC peacefully entered into rest on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Winston-Salem Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a brief period of illness.
Alexander Barnett Hooper was born to Otis Barnett Hooper and Johnsie Barbeer Hooper on November 18, 1936. He received his formal education in Detroit Michigan and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Alexander Barnett Hooper lovingly called and known as "June Barbeer", gave his life to Christ at an early age. February 6, 2011 it is recorded that he rededicated his life to Jesus Christ and was a member of East Side Church of Christ at the time of his demise. He was committed to bible study and most Sunday Mornings he could be found at church worshipping the Lord.
"June Barbeer" served in the US Army and was employed by Russell Funeral Home, Salvation Army, Urban League and Goodwill where he rendered services as a distributor of food, custodian and in administrative services.
"June Barbeer" could articulate with the best of them and the least of them, he had the charm and charisma of his father. He was a person who could get a job at the "White House" if it had been his desire, he knew how to present himself to anyone.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Lois Ann Truhart and Betty Jean Mills; brother, Clifton Taylor; and life-long friend, Bessie Patterson.
