Emma Alberta Lowery Teal of 6558 Vance Rd, Kernersville NC, was born in Forsyth County on May 25, 1933 to Luther Roosevelt Lowery and Mildred Hairston Lowery. She was called to Heaven on June 28, 2022. She fought a good fight and kept the faith.

Alberta was a graduate of Carver Consolidated High School of Forsyth County and she furthered her education at the Russell's Commercial Secretarial School of Winston Salem. Alberta was a dedicated employee at Burlington Industries for over 30 years. She was a life-long member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Walkertown NC, where she served as Financial Secretary for over 65 years and served as a member of the Senior Choir, Board of Christian Education, Sunday School as a Teacher, Women's Progressive Auxiliary, Pastors Aide, Sunshine Band Advisor, Bible Study and Fit for Dwelling Classes. Alberta was a beautiful songstress; she was a member of Oak Grove's Harmonettes and the group Relative Five, as lead singer.

Her family will always remember her as loving, sweet, and kind-hearted with a generous spirit, great sense of humour, and as an excellent cook.

Alberta was proceeded in death by her parents; one sister, Plushia Mae; and two brothers, Willie "WC" and James Lowery.

She leaves precious memories and a legacy of her love to her son, Derith "Chuck" Teal, Sr. (Shavonnie); one sister, Louise Bailey (Gurvis)  of Orange, VA; two brothers, Reverend Richard Lowery (Betty) of Walkertown, NC and Luther Roosevelt Lowery (Luther Mae) of Winston Salem, NC; two grandsons, Derith "Chuck" Teal, Jr. (Janisha) and Desmond Teal (Gwendolyn); two great-granddaughters, Gabrielle and Cameron Teal; a host of caring nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Friday, July 1, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Graylin Carlton officiating.  Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
