Alberta Crank Boyd, 91, formerly of Gastonia, NC passed away peacefully on October 5, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born December 12, 1923 in Union County, NC to the late Joe Robert Clark and Jhana Minter. Alberta was the youngest of the family's ten children, and the last survivor.

The primary focus of her life was her family and she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was affectionately called "Honey". She was a lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Gastonia, NC.

She is survived by her husband, C.B. Boyd, Sr.; three children, Carvin V. (Linda) Boyd, Melvin "Mel" Boyd (Vernon) McHam, and Norris L. (Sybil) Boyd; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a special friend, Mrs. Juanita C. Jackson.

Homegoing services will be held at 11:00am Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Benjamin Hinton officiating. Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Friday at the Chapel.
