Mr. Albert Lee Wardlow, Sr., 80, departed this life on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center following a brief illness. Affectionately known to his family as "Pa", he was born July 19, 1935 in Forsyth County to John E. and Lillie Green Wardlow.

He was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and was a 1953 graduate of Atkins High School. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 35 years of service. He was the eldest male patriarch of Second Calvary Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the Trustee and Usher Boards. His favorite hymnals were "Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross" and "All These Years".

He was an Honorary Past Grand Master (MWPHGL of NC); Past Master Bivouac Lodge #503, PHA; Grand Standard Bearer Emeritus (MWPHGL of NC); King Solomon Consistory #64, PHA; Shriner Sethos Temple #170; Past Patron Bivouac Chapter #530 (OES), PHA.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Luther Wardlow; and one grandson, Antoine Tolliver.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 62 years, Rev. Barbara L. Wardlow; two sons, Donald L. Wardlow and Albert L. (Patricia) Wardlow, Jr.; his devoted granddaughter, Sherian Lowery of the home; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, John Wardlow; two sisters, Lucy (Minister Michael) Fulton and Inez Wardlow all of W-S, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, the Charles Family and friends.

Rites given by Sethos Temple #170, King Solomon Consistory #64, Bivouac Chapter #530, will be held at 6:00pm Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Donald Stowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Wednesday at the Church.
