Obituary

Mr. Albert Bradley Samuel, Sr. of 3827 Barkwood Dr., Winston-Salem, NC was born January 18, 1932 in Winston-Salem, NC to Hasker B. Samuel, Sr. and Willie M. Samuel.

He attended the Forsyth County Public Schools and also Winston-Salem Teachers College now known as Winston-Salem State University.

Mr. Samuel passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007. He was of the Holiness Faith. He served as Minister of Music (Choir Director) for several churches, namely; Shiloh Baptist Church, Kimberly Park Holiness Church, Morning Star Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Lexington, NC, and Miracle Temple Holiness Church of High Point, NC. He was noted for his rendition of an Easter Cantata entitled, "King Triumphant" by E.L. Ashford for 25 years at the above churches and many others in the City of Winston-Salem and surrounding areas.

Albert was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all that knew him. His parents, Hasker B., Sr. and Willie M. Samuel and a sister who died in infancy preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his wife, Josephine Garris Samuel of 55 years; three children, Sharon (Andrew) Lindsay, Albert B. Samuel, Jr. and Damita (Frederick) Sharp all of Winston-Salem, NC; six grandchildren, Andrew Jamal (Heather) Lindsay of Bangor, Maine, Sean C. Lindsay of Charlotte, NC, Annita Joy Samuel, Jayson Samuel, Kimberly Lindsay, and Aliah J. Sharp all of Winston-Salem, NC; one great-grandson, Issa Cogdell of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, Hasker B. (Sylvia) Samuel, Jr. of Silver Spring, MD; Wilbert (Grace) Samuel; two sisters, Dorothy Samuel Smith and LaVerne Samuel of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters-in-law, Mary L. Compton, Rosa G. Johnson, and Essie Mae Williams all of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother-in-law, Samuel L. Garris of Winston-Salem, NC; a very dear nephew, Nathaniel T. Clemons, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and host of other relatives and friends and an adoptive family, Dr. Deva Sharma and Vilma Sharma of Winston-Salem, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Family visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
