Peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2013, heavenly angels guided Albert Watson Revel into the master's kingdom to rest.
Albert was born to the late Charlie and Birdie Revel on June 4, 1924 in Davie County, NC. Albert attended school in Davie County, NC and after growing up, he moved to Washington, DC.
Albert was employed by the Department of Transportation in Washington, DC, where he retired in 1979. He was also employed by Strohs Brewery and the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools after moving back to Winston-Salem, NC.
Albert was a member of the Carver Road Church of Christ where he attended faithfully until his health failed. Albert was loved by all that knew him.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by 4 siblings and his daughter, Deadra Perry.
He leaves precious memories to be cherished by his wife of 32 years, Carrie Revel; daughters, Sharon (George) Young of Bowie, MD, Judy (Shepherd) Johnson, and Winifred Cameron of the city; grandchildren, Kendrick and Keevia Perry of Waldorf, MD, Corey (Vernell) Young of Bowie, MD, Chezda (Jon) Jones of Laurel, MD, and Jalen and Ernest Cameron of the city; sister, Betty Schaffer; one brother, Nathan Revel of the city; a devoted son-in-law, Karl Perry of Waldorf, MD; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Carver Road Church of Christ with Brother Bernard Revel officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
