Albert Lewis Hampton, Sr., of Roanoke, VA passed away on August 8, 2020 at Sovah Health Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, VA. He was the son of the late James Robert and Millie Hampton.

Pvt-2 Albert L. Hampton, Sr. was a proud member of the United States Army as a 1 ^st Airborne Ranger and also received a National Defense Service Medal and Purple Heart. He was a loving and caring husband and father. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his loving and devoted wife, Lucy Hampton of Winston-Salem, NC; daughters, Sharron Hampton of Kernersville, NC and Tiffanie Robertson of Roanoke, VA; son, Aubrey L. Hampton, US Army Chaplain of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

"God saw that you were getting tired when healing was not to be, so he put his arms around him and whispered come with me. A heart of Gold stopped beating your hard working hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best."

Interment will be held at 9:00am Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, NC 28144.
