Adolphus Coplin, Sr., 86, was born February 4, 1934 to Laura Coplin Robinson in Halifax County, NC.  He  transitioned to glory on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Adolphus was a retired employee of R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company where he was a mechanic for 33 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and a son, Larry Coplin, Sr.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories a loving wife of 33 years, Margaret Boston Coplin; 4 daughters, Crystal Coplin (Kevin) Griffen of Woodbridge, VA,  Alana Childs, Kindra Payne, and Latonya Wright; 5 sons, Adolphus (Valarie) Coplin, Jr., Allenard (Donna) Coplin of Laurel, MD, Isaac Peterson, Brian Peterson, and David Peterson; one daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Coplin; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren;  uncle, Charles (Patty Ruth) Richardson; aunt, Sarah Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, November 03, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020.  Entombment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
