She was a dedicated member of Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church for over 40 years. She was a member of the Messengers choir and eventually became the director.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Ohve and Mrs. Gladys Smith; brother, Jessie Smith; and her husband, Cedell Clifton Lyles, Jr.

Mrs. Ada Smith Lyles leaves to cherish many fond memories, her sons, Cedell (Kristie) Lyles, III of Rural Hall and Dorwyn (Natasha) Lyles, of Fayetteville, Georgia; her grandsons, Cedell Clifton Lyles, IV, Ryan Lyles, Dorwyn Lyles, Jr. and William Lyles; her three sisters, Pearl McDermott, Rachel Smith and Martha Hairston; devoted friends, Janice Kendall and her two daughters, Erica and Tahja Hairston; and a host of many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
