Abron Griffin Jr., 47, affectionately known by his family and friends as "Rocky" departed this life on July 20, 2025.  Abron was born on January 26, 1978, to Ruby and Abron Griffin, Sr. in Winston-Salem, (Forsyth County) NC.

He was preceded in death by his father, Retired Master Sgt., Abron Griffin, Sr.; foster brother, Alexander Gregory; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Abron attended the local public schools, Appalachian State University, Guilford Technical Community College and Forsyth Technical Community College.

He was employed with Thermcraft Inc. and Graves Landscaping Company.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted mother, Ruby Cole Griffin who loved him dearly; two sons, Brodie Poole, Abron Griffin, III "LA", and one daughter, Alayna Brown; fiancée, Alicia Crews and extended daughters, Brittney, Ariana and Cierra; six aunts, Mildred Griffin, of Ofallon, IL, Barbara Surratt, of Shelby NC, Emma Ingram, Ann C. Galloway, Gwendolyn A. Cole, and Blondie (George) Glenn all of Winston-Salem, NC; special village of friends, Thomas Hicks, Cassandra (Kevin) Caldwell, Ed and Amy Bowden, and Craig Poole; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Monday, July 28, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church., 450 Metropolitan Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 with  Reverend Dr. Alvin T. Armstead Jr. officiating.   Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 2124 New Walkertown Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00pm on Tuesday at the Church.
