Abrah Rena Allen departed this earthly life on the night of October 17, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Abrah was born in Winston-Salem, NC on December 6, 1957 to Rose Freeman McKoy. He graduated high school in June 1976, and immediately began working in the family owned business, "McKoy Construction" where he was a professional cement finisher.

Abrah was a lover of football (Pittsburg Steelers), track and field, ice skating, and fishing with family. He engulfed his life around his family, and was the life around his family, and was the life of every gathering. He never met a stranger and would do anything for anybody at any time.

In the last few months of his life, he accepted our Lord and Savior into his life. During his last days he embraced his spirituality and rejoiced in the word.

Preceding Abrah in death were his loving partner, Sarah McKey; his step-daughter, Tomeka McKey; and his biological father, Abraham Allen.

Left to mourn his passing are one step-son, Rod Leon McKey; his loving parents, William and Rosie McKoy; one brother, Johnny (Sandra) Staggers; five sisters, Mildred (Byron) Robinson, Kathy Stewart, Pamela McKoy, Myra (Theodore) McCollum, and Shannon McKoy all of Winston-Salem, NC; three grandchildren, Katrina McKey, Tyrone Campbell, and Kamayh McKey; one great-grandchild, Hayden Daneaton all of Winston-Salem, NC; four nephews; seven nieces; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Leon Oglesby officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
