Abdullah Yusuf Ali aka Joseph Calvin Murphy formerly of Las Vegas, NV, who currently resided at 546 Riverbend Dr., Bermuda Run, NC departed this life March 11, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Health, W-S, NC.

Abdullah was the beloved brother of Betty Murphy of W-S, NC and the late Billie Little, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY. He was born to the late Christine Murphy and Pete Jackson on July 10, 1946.

He has five children, Azzia Ali of Orlando, FL, Ramadan Ali of San Diego, CA, Muhammad Ali, Jabril Ali, and Makail Ali of Stone Mountain, GA and two grandchildren Ronni Brown of Stone Mountain, GA and Cataleya Ali of San Diego, CA. He is the nephew of Carnella Murphy Andrews and Brenda Murphy of W-S, NC. He is the uncle of a special, loving niece Linda Davis Thomas, San Davis, and Darryl Davis of W-S. His maternal cousins are Thelma Ellis Greene of Teaneck, NJ, Gwendolyn Armstrong of W-S, NC, Joyce Rankins of W-S, NC, Lottie and Barbara Murphy of Shelby, NC, Lisa Murphy Hendricks of Florida, Juanita Young (David) Martinez of Teaneck, NJ, Luther Young of Teaneck, NJ, Katrina Smith, Alzora Simmons, Albert Murphy of W-S, NC, Albert Murphy Ali of Tennessee, Daniel (Felicia) Andrews, III of Greensboro, NC, Gerri and Bonnie Murphy of Detroit, MI; 2 great nieces, Akeba Mitchell of W-S, NC, Desiraye Williams of Rialto, CA; 3 great-great nieces, Akejah and Honesty Mitchell-Walters of W-S, NC, Faith Williams of Rialto, CA; 2 great-great nephews, Ummni Mills of W-S, NC and Zane Williams of Rialto, CA; special friends, Juanita Watson of Las Vegas, NV, Shelly Hawkins of Bermuda Run, NC, Carol Mann of W-S, NC, and Alexander Groves of W-S, NC.

Services will be held at 1:45pm March 15, 2016 at the Community Mosque of Winston-Salem, 1419 Waughtown St. W-S, NC. Burial will follow in Annoor Cemetery.
