Mr. Aaron Lamar Shepherd, age 28, a loving father, son, brother and friend departed his life unexpectedly on August 15, 2020. He was born June 11, 1992 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Lavonia Denise Shepherd and Orlando Lemar Small.

Aaron Shepherd, known as "Lil A" was a longtime resident of Winston-Salem. He was educated in Forsyth County school system. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Vincent Calvin Kirby.

He is survived by his mother, Lavonia Denise Shepherd of the city; father, Orlando Lemar Small of Washington, DC; his children, Tae'Ron Shepherd, Kennard Oglesby, A'Vrion Shepherd, Zahelm Reese, and Erynne Shepherd all of the city; his lovely fiancé', Joyess Slater; five sisters, Lamonica Shepherd of the city, Shantel Shepherd of the city, Tiffany Lockhart of Charlotte, NC, Kyra Small and Camryn Small of Greensboro, NC; three brothers, Dontrell Holland of the city, Nikee Black of Newark, NJ, and La Tre Small of Plymouth, NC; his grandmother, Margretta M. Shepherd of the city; grandparents, Jonnie and Dorothy Small of Plymouth, NC; aunties, Pretrina Kirby of the city and Shanequa Small of Plymouth, NC; uncles, Derrick Small of Charlotte, NC and Trevon Small of Raleigh, NC; a dedicated cousin, Adrian McFadden, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews; great uncles and aunties, cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, August 21, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020.
