Aaron Donnell Jarrett, Sr. was born July 29, 1950 and passed away August 13, 2023 at Trellis of Winston-Salem.

He was educated by the WSFC school system where he completed his education at Paisley High School.  He worked for Clarios (formerly Johnson Controls Battery Division, Inc.) for 33 years until he retired.

He was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church for 68 years and was part of the finance ministry.  He later changed to Tranzition Ministriez under the leadership of Pastor Lester Boyd and Lady Sharon Boyd who were formerly at Friendship Baptist Church for 8 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice B. Edwards; a brother, Tonny Jarrett; and a stepfather, Willie C. Edwards.

He leaves to cherish a loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Geraland Jarrett; two daughters, Tiffany Jarrett and Crystal (Mark) Hughes; a son, Aaron (Tekoa) Jarrett, Jr.; a bonus son, Darryl (Anita) Martin; two God-sisters, Vera (Nathaniel) Williams and Doris Friday; five sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a devoted former son-in-law, Donald Blackwell; two best friends, Don (Doris) Ellis and George Jones of VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, August 18, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lester Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
