Mr. Charles "Charlie" Whittington Cox

Mr. Charles "Charlie" Whittington Cox, 86, formerly of 625 W. Sixth St., Apt. F, Crystal Towers, Winston-Salem, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Cox was born in Wilkesboro on June 4, 1919, and moved to Winston-Salem after discharge from the service in the late 1960s. He leaves to cherish his memories a nephew, Thomas (Mattie) Lynch of Wilkesboro; a niece, Tammy (Thomas) Crawford; and a granddaughter, Terri (Isaiah) Hawkins, all of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Wednesday, Jan. 11, in the chapel of Russell Funeral Home, with Elder Sharon Covington of Christ Cathedral Church officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the funeral home.
