  Mrs. Willie Mae Robinson Cook 

Mrs. Willie Mae Robinson Cook, 65, of 5068 Lansing Drive, Apt. 213 departed this life on April 2, 2006 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after an extended period of illness. Mrs. Cook was born October 19, 1940 in Winston-Salem, NC to Willie Robinson and Ada Mae Martin Robinson. Mrs. Cook attended Atkins Senior High School and later employed with AT & T. She was an active and dedicated member of Carver School Road Church of Christ, where she served on numerous committees over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mr. John Henry Cook; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Robinson Pearson; and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Robinson, whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Cook leaves to cherish her memory a son, Mr. Darryl Lamont Cook; daughter, Monica Elaine Cook; two step-daughters, Veronica Jones (Jesse) and Melinda Quattlebaum (Tim) all of Winston-Salem, NC; six brothers, a devoted brother, Clarence “Bernard” Robinson, Willie Garner, Cornell Garner, Craymon Garner (Sandra), Charles Robinson (Lynn) all of Winston-Salem, NC and Gregory Garner of Virginia; sisters, Lucille Lynch of Charlotte, NC; Vickie Roseborough (Roger), Diane Jones, Tammy Mack (Terrence), Claudette Holley, Barbara Clark (the Reverend Clark) and Pamela Garner all of Winston-Salem, NC; step-mother, Mrs. Juanita Robinson of Winston-Salem, NC; three wonderful grandchildren, whom she adored, Tyler Dominique, Ryan Nicholas, and Chelsea Danielle Cook of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Carver School Road Church of Christ with Brother Julius Green, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will held from 12:30 pm until 1 pm Saturday at the church. “The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. R. Duncan Hite and the medical staff of 6C ICU, North Tower Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.” In honor of Mrs. Willie Mae Cook, charitable donations may be given to the Schleraderma Foundation for further research of this disease.
