  Mother Betty Ann Collins 

Mother Betty Ann Collins, 72, of 308 Azalea Terrace departed this life on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a period of illness. Betty Ann Collins was born on March 25, 1934 in Rutherfordton, NC to Leo Boyd Cannon, Sr. and Evangelist Effie Bell Wilkins Cannon.
She attended Atkins High School in Winston-Salem, NC. She was employed for 30 years at Sara Lee Hosiery and retired in September 1997. She was an active member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church and recently joined New Unity Missionary Baptist Church. Betty was a devoted and loving mother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her mother Evangelist Effie Bell Wilkins Cannon.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her father, Leo Boyd Cannon, Sr.; six children, Cynthia Love, Cassandra Moore, Cheryl Reich, James W. Reich, Jr. (Sharon), Terry Reich (Cassandria) and Faye Teal (Chuck, Sr.); two brothers, Leo B. Cannon, Jr. and Reginald Cannon; two devoted aunts, Martha Gullick and Beatrice Myers; a devoted nephew, Pastor Melvin “Rip” Wilkins, Sr.; a loving friend, Savannah Crews; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, friends, and church family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday, April 24, 2006 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Pastor Samuel J Cornelius, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm Monday at the church.
